VTC'S need to be replaced

I used to balance turbine wheels at a factory to unbelievable low tolerances. If you were getting your blades balanced your old way within a tiny sheet of paper of weight off, you were doing great. It would take quite a bit of weight before you would feel any noticeable vibration on a lawnmower deck.The belt makes more vibration. A greatly bent blade would definitely be more noticeable. That was a great video and demonstration of the Oregon blade, balancer and straightener.

How do you keep the applicator from contaminating the rest of the liquid in the bottle? I'm assuming you cannot apply to help stop bleeding because the bloody applicator would go back in the bottle.

hey man i have a 03 silverado and i switched every o2 sensor and have fixed all exhaust leaks and had even got a new catalytic converter but still tells me p0157 yet i check connections and everything is good and nothing seems to he the problem truck runs absolutely perfect nothing wrong js still causing a p0157 code any answers?

Try you blades on a magna - matic mag 1000 after you balance them on your balancer it blow my mind

I've known for years that synthetic oil is not good for break in.

I can almost guarantee you that some of these newer cars that run synthetic oil we're not designed for it .... and they just switch to it for fuel efficiency reasons... I think they did some basic testing and then they just rolled with it...

I have a F-150 with a 5.03L Gen 3 and I bought it with 35k miles. I have used this Mobil 1 and when I change it it has the same viscosity as the new oil. Having read some history the synthetic oil was designed for air cooled airplanes motors during WW2 and has a good history in racing and high performance motors. Being a light weight oil it works great for the new cars and trucks motors that require light weight oil. Yes you burn a little bit of oil but no leaks and having a 8 1/2 quart oil pan solves this issue in my King Ranch.

By the way.....do you know what the most dangerous animal is??? Some would say it's a tiger or a Grizzly, but no......it's the Housewife!! LOL

Great modification. We always have wild animals around our house. We had a family of skunks under the house a few years ago. Animal control wanted a couple hundred dollars each to remove them. They said they would have to kill them because it's illegal to relocate a skunk. We opted not to do that. It would have been too expensive.

How's she goin'? I like how you have looked at the trap, identified the weaknesses, especially in the carrying and releasing, and then designed a very workable solution to the problem. And being 30 feet away when releasing a trapped animal, no matter what it is, has to be a good plan in my books!! Take 'er easy!!

For about three years when I first moved in to my house I had a big 'ol three-legged raccoon visit and just sit on the rail of my back deck. Not sure if the previous owners might have fed it or not. But being soft at heart I too ended up feeding it a few little things. It never caused any problems at all, but I worried about its life with only the three legs. Called animal control to help, but they were not inclined to do anything unless it was either a threat or a nuisance. By its size and colour, I figured it was getting up in years, so after those three years never saw it again.

Looks much safer.

Hi Steve - the upgrade is good - when me and my neighbour release coons it’s done at 15km away. The young ones are the most feisty I the cage compared to the old and fat ones lol - also place trap on board or concrete or they may rip up grass trying to escape. Thanks

There’s nothing docile about a raccoon, they ALL have the ability and will attack you ,don’t b complacent!!!

we have several of them traps we use a blanket over the end them little buggers are smart and will reach in for your bait once we caught a coon it was so fat it barely fit in the trap and squirrels i found that you need to tweek the rods and make sure to set it with a hair triger we have caught rats in them too

I like it Steve. I was always very scared when moving the little bandits. They have all them fingers to grab you and then they show you how wild they are when trapped…..Preston Hardware, and just to say that they are about the most expensive here in Ottawa. I have a few of them live traps, different sizes. WOW, look at them mods, Steve thinking again. I haven't had much problem on the carry or release.

Well, look at you MacGyvering your trap. First when got our trap I thought the price was just crazy but holy thcit have we relocated creatures using it over the years. I have this thingy to use to lift the it up (already lost the handle thingy long time ago). We've been caching mostly groundhogs this year. Was money well spend. Only one time we had experienced one very mad wild thing that Ron had to go behind the truck (I was behind a big boulder recording). Omg, there is so many groundhogs over there at the project house. You need to take the animal at least 5 miles away or it will return. They also tear up the ground underneath while in the trap.

These small engines are built with low tension rings. They can build them with sloppy tolerances and make pull-starting easier.

Good job investing but this is pretty standard across all reciprocating engines whether it be 2 cycle, 4 cycle, automotive or aviation. Engines are best broken in with mineral based oils (conventional) and then can be run on whatever the user prefers.

Great idea! My light duty fix was to buy a “heavy duty” adjustable shower curtain rod. It is easy and light. Just don’t use it for a half bed of batteries or such!

This caused an interesting rabbit-hole adventure. Here's my take: it depends. A cylinder can be honed to varying degrees of precision and polish. A rough honed cylinder needs to be ground down to fine by the rings. Doing that needs an oil that doesn't lubricate all that well. The Kholer in your mower is certainly in this category. I would strongly caution to not extrapolate that to a generalization. It is entirely possible to hone cylinders to a mirror finish that doesn't need, or want, a wear-in process. Cars that come with full synthetic have been machined smooth or broken in before shipment. I think your point of reading manuals is good advice. Reading is easy and can avoid many dumb mistakes. Nothing but 5w-40 full synthetic in my VW since 1st oil change per the manual. Still runs perfect at 267,000.

Hi Steve. So, my f150 down shifts to low idle only when stopping the vehicle. I cleaned the throttle body, changed out my idle control valve, changed my pcv valve, all vacuum hoses are good. I'm baffled! Please help me out!!!❤

Steve, I sharpen my blades then spray paint them after just to keep them from rusting (I’m sure that’s why they come powder coated for shipping) but I probably don’t need to. I keep three sets of blades ahead then have a sharpening day to catch up on them. 🤷🏻‍♂️
